跟從耶穌

聖經講到「跟從耶穌」時，乃是宣告一種學習，它會釋放人類脫離一切人的理論，脫離各樣重擔與壓迫，脫離各種焦慮與心靈的痛苦。人若是跟從耶穌，就能脫離他們自訂規律的重軛，接受耶穌基督仁慈的軛。但是這是說我們可以忽視祂命令的嚴重性嗎？絕對不是！乃是惟有我們完全重視祂的命令，重視祂叫我們成為祂門徒的斷然的呼召之時，我們才能獲得完全的自由，及與耶穌之間的團契。惟有那毫無保留地聽從耶穌命令，毫不抵抗地接受祂的軛的人，才會發現祂的軛是容易的，並在其溫和的壓力之下領受力量，持續地走在正路上。耶穌的命令是難的──對那些想要抗拒的人，乃是完全困難的。... When the Bible speaks of "following Jesus," it is proclaiming a discipleship which will liberate mankind from all man-made dogma, from every burden and oppression, from every anxiety and torture which afflicts the conscience. If they follow Jesus, men escape from the hard yoke of their own laws, and submit to the kindly yoke of Jesus Christ. But does this mean that we can ignore the seriousness of His command? Far from it! We can only achieve perfect liberty and enjoy fellowship with Jesus when His command, His call to absolute discipleship, is appreciated in its entirety. Only the man who follows the command of Jesus without reserve, and submits unresistingly to His yoke, finds his burden easy, and under its gentle pressure receives the power to persevere in the right way. The command of Jesus is hard--unutterably hard--for those who try to resist it.
